A War Gone Wrong?
For several years now, this country has been in a war - a war that seemed like it has limits and purpose. As time rolls on, I'm starting to question the way things are going as we seem to be sending more and more troops, and the current administration doesn't want to set time tables.
With the recent year being a large time for travel for me, I've seen my fair share of welcomings for soldiers. Soldiers who have done their time and have been allowed to come back home. Everyone, including those who do not personally know the solider, all stand up and cheer (as they should), but I saw a fairly sad sight the other day in the Atlanta International Airport.
Instead tears of joy coming from the eyes of family members, there were tears of sadness as MORE soldiers were being sent off away from their families. No promises of when they will come home... if they will come home. Maybe it's just me and some Buddhist thinking, but why are we causing so much harm in the world? First taking soldiers out of the arms of families, then their lives in the lands of the desert? Maybe it's just me - but it doesn't seem like a winning battle anymore...
