Insurance Companies

Why do auto insurance companies move so slow? Yes, I understand that they, like everyone else, are out to make a buck - but wouldn't that buck come faster if they worked harder (and faster?).

Ever since my automobile accident I've come to realize the headaches associated with having the accident. I don't know if you know, but after the accident you have to get the police report, go to your insurance company to make a claim, go to your company's appraiser, go the the paying company's appraiser, then find a body shop and use their quote. The body shop usually says that the paying company's rate is too low, so they take your car anyways, and then the body shop has to wait on the insurance company to come out and see the damages so they can award more money or not. Then the car has to go through the process of getting fixed.

With all that being said, every time you deal with an insurance company, they always give you a 24-72 hour window. What a pain in the ass! Why can't you just do it right then? More people will like you guys, you'll get more business because more people will like you, and and you get to drop and finish the case. Why deal with the headache?!
