Volunteering
WOW! For the first time in a long time I've had the opportunity to volunteer and give back. That is what my big focus is this summer - Volunteering. I've decided to volunteer in three places - the Ronald McDonald House, Atlanta Children's Shelter, and a Influenza lab. Crazy huh? Yea - so today I went to the ACS, and had a funny conversation with Tyrese who's 5 years old..
--Tyrese: Mr. Rayyjeeev, is you like my daddy?
--Me: What do you mean Tyrese?
--Tyrese: my daddy's 1/2 black - i think you is too.
--Me: You think I'm 1/2 black?! (with hope in my voice)
--Tyrese : yeas, he's 1/2 black and 1/2 part them Asian
--Me: I think you're my new best friend
Everyday that I go there, I leave laughing with some story to tell. I've really come to understand that kids are promising people with just a lot of innocence - especially these guys who have no home to go to.
Volunteer!
